About Magnet
Magnet Networks is recognised as Ireland’s leading telecoms company in providing advanced phone and broadband services to both residential and business customers along with providing Ireland’s fastest broadband speeds. Magnet owns and runs its own network thus it is able to give its customers their own dedicated line that they don’t share with anyone else and lets them experience the backing of our top quality, dedicated customer care team. Our next generation service is delivered through our extensive fibre optic and copper access network. In Ireland we currently service thousands of business and residential customers and are also the largest provider of fibre to the home in the country.
Established in Ireland in 2004, Magnet has to date invested over €120 million in creating the most advanced telecoms network in the country. Magnet Networks is owned by Columbia Ventures Corporation (CVC), which itself is owned by Irish-American entrepreneur Ken Peterson, Jr. The CVC companies include Hibernia Atlantic, who own the only transatlantic fibre optic cable directly connecting the Republic of Ireland to North America. Hibernia also built and operates the Project Kelvin fibre optic cable ring around Northern Ireland, connecting to the Republic and directly to North America. Other sister companies, PocketiNet and Pac-West Telecom handle a billion minutes of monthly phone calls in the United States along with Pivotel, a mobile and satellite phone company in Australia.
